Leading Alderney-licensed online poker site PKR.com has announced that it has come a long way since it launched four years ago with a bold promise to change forever the way online poker is played.

PKR.com debuted on August 17, 2006, and has now accumulated over 3.75 million registered players while giving away just short of three million dollars in freerolls

“We're very proud of our achievements to date,” said Simon Prodger, Marketing Director for PKR.com.

“We came against a lot of pessimism for being so innovative when we launched but our customers have shown that they enjoy playing in our true-to-life environment and really appreciate the community feel.”

PKR.com has also received recognition from the industry and took home the Online Poker Operator Of The Year prize at last year’s the International Gaming Awards.

Along the way, PKR.com has also launched a magazine, started its own regular television show and sponsored London's first licensed live poker venue, The Fox Poker Club. This is in addition to introducing its PKR Live bi-annual poker event and its Team PKR Pro, which consists entirely of up and coming players from the site.
